Two Sunday hours that carry the week
Do not pre-cook seven dishes — only the building blocks: a pot of rice, boiled potatoes, one sauce, cut vegetables.
“Meal prep” usually fails on the idea of filling seven boxes with finished dishes that all taste the same by Thursday. Better are building blocks from which different dinners come together in ten minutes:
- A big pot of rice or potatoes — the base for fried rice, fried potatoes, potato salad.
- One tomato sauce or Bolognese — for pasta, bake, pizza.
- Washed, cut salad in a box with kitchen paper — keeps four days.
- Roasted vegetables — cold in a salad, warm with meat, blended as soup.
- A dressing in a jar, a herb quark, hard-boiled eggs.
- Patties — warm today, cold on bread tomorrow.
