A weekly plan that lasts until Friday
Plan Sunday big, Monday from leftovers, two evenings cold and one free. A plan that demands cooking every night lasts until Wednesday.
The most common mistake in weekly planning is ambition: seven dinners, seven recipes, then Tuesday gets in the way and the whole plan goes in the bin. A plan that holds looks like this:
- One big dish at the weekend that yields leftovers — roast, goulash, stew, lasagne.
- Monday: its leftovers. Perhaps in a new shape.
- Two quick weekday dishes under 30 minutes.
- Two evenings of bread supper or salad — cold cooking is cooking.
- One evening without a plan: leftovers, frozen pizza, delivery, eating out. It is in the plan so it is not a failure.
- One shop a week with the list, a second short trip for fresh things on Thursday.
This app’s “roll the week” feature follows exactly these rules: nothing over an hour on weekdays, no repeats, variety across categories, season respected.
