Method

    Finely chop the onion and garlic, sweat gently in olive oil, roast the tomato purée briefly.

    Add the tomatoes, oregano, sugar, salt and pepper, simmer for 15 minutes.

    Cook the spaghetti al dente, toss with the sauce and a little pasta water, tear the basil over.
